How Brown Gives Back
Our commitment to our community isn’t limited to simply delivering the best beverage products to our customers. Through different local initiatives, we’re able to show our support locally and make a real difference — the Brown way.
A few ways we’re making a local impact include:
Charitable Contributions
Over a quarter of a million dollars were donated through event sponsorships in 2021, with the majority donated to Virginia-based charities. Overall, $543,000 were donated in 2021, with 91 percent donated to Richmond-based charities. In 2022, $620,000 are planned to be donated with 91 percent of the proceeds going to Richmond-based charities.
Featured Charitable Contributions
Sports Backers Run Club
In 2022, we will donate $5,000 in the form of race entries for families to participate in a local 5k. There are three planned runs benefiting Sports Backers, an RVA-based non-profit promoting active living opportunities for underserved populations in the area.
The University of Richmond
Our donation of $1 million has helped fund their Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (CIE) Initiative. With our support, they’ve launched their pilot course where students conceptualize and market a packaged food idea. Its inaugural class created and launched Absurd Snacks, an alternative trail mix, that has been sold to various retailers in the greater Richmond area as well as customers online.
